Butterscotch is a combinaiton of brown sugar and butter. Therefore there is no need for butterscotch chips.

I have made this for the past 2 Christmases and this is without a doubt my favorite cookie! I have to make at least 4 pans and even then it is gone in a day and a half!

This is delicious! Everyone went crazy over this bark at my holiday open house. I used 1/2 cup of chocolate chips and 1/2 cup of butterscotch chips and it turned out great. You can definitely substitute different nuts and candies. It's also fast and easy to make -- which was a big plus for me as I made 5 different kinds of cookies for the party, some of which were time intensive

the butter and brown sugar gives the butterscotch taste....I've also done this with soda crackers, placing them on the bottom of a cookie sheet, pouring the brown sugar and butter mixture over them, then sprinkling chocolate chips (I suppose you could use butterscotch chips) over the top where they will melt, then spread with a spatula, and sprinkle with coconut, ground almonds, crushed candy canes, let cool, then break into pieces.

Maybe that should be butterscotch chips?

When does the Butterscotch come in to play?
