I make these with a sliver of good Parmesan cheese, or a shmear of blue cheese inside, rather than the almonds. SO good...

I made these by cutting the dates in half and stuffing them with a half of a whole water chestnut and wrapping them in a half of strip of center cut bacon. They were sweet, salty and crunchy all at once, and a huge hit with my friends.

I serve these with honey drizzled over top and blue cheese crumbled over all. They are fabulous with the sweet, salty and tangy flavours coming together.

they're excellent with hickory smoked almonds and a sliver or two of jalapeno peppers. the combination of salty sweet smokey and slightly warm is addicting.

These are actuallly super stuffed with a water chestnut, cut in half--They are also yummy not stuffed at all-just bacon around the date.

This looks great but my husband isn't crazy about nuts in anything. How about stuffing with something else. Maybe cream cheese or ?

Actually if you use Spanish Marcona almonds and Serrano ham they are outstanding!

It is even better with a spike of parmesan cheese instead of the almond.
