I use a microwave, which frees up burners, and doesn't require watching, particularly during holidays. I use the same ingredients with 1 T. butter added. Put all in microwave safe bowl, stir, cover, and microwave at 50% power for 20 minutes.Stir, recover, and let stand 5-10 minutes before serving. Perfect rice, every time.

Directions
In a 2-quart saucepan, bring water andsalt to a rapid boil over high heat; stir in whiterice. Return mixture to a boil. Reduce heat to asimmer; cook, covered, until rice is done andstudded with steam holes, 15 to 20 minutes.Let stand, covered, 5 to 10 minutes, then fluffrice with a fork.
