Hands off our culture. You dont see Palestinians claiming challah bread as theirs!

This is a Palestinian Lebanese and Syrian recipie. Please tell me how some immigrant from Poland or Morroco or Yemen taught my mom grandmother and so on how to make this salad. None of these people make this salad. Can you at least let Palestine keep their food? No you have to take credit for that too.

They also lie and steal recipies like maftool (Pearl couscous that our grandmothers make BY HAND), shawerma, Hummus, and babaganoush. We need to hide the remainder of our recipies before they take credit for that too. Thank God the home cooked foods are unknown to them because they never been in a Palestinian home. Palestinians: hide your maklooba, kunafa, and tho best because the culture vulchers will be after that next.

They are a nation of immigrants with no common culture of their own so they have to take credit for the indigenous Palestinian culture. And of course the white ppl only give arabic food the credit it deserves when its given by ppl who have no right to claim the food in the first place

This is hurtful and an attempt to strip palestine of its culture. Please give rightful credit to the originators. Israelis love and enjoy levantine food but it's harmful for them to claim it as theirs.

Love this recipe. In Iran it is known as Salad Shirazi and has an addition of onion. I think that no matter what it's called it tastes great. Maybe the choice of wording could be altered to support its vast consumption across the Middle East/Mediterranean. This is a very controversial topic, despite it being just the name of a simple salad, and the choice wording seems to offend many. Time for an edit? Just a thought.

every single family in the middle-eastern part of the mediterranean makes this salad. it belongs to no one (lebanese, syrian, palestinian, israeli, whatever). all haters should get a breath of fresh air, or just go make this salad. sheesh! i bet your grandma didn't call this salad by any name or even care where it came from. stop fussing over everything...

No NO,,,This is an EXCELLENT recipe. It tastes exactly like the freshest and best dalds I ever had while I visit The Nation Israel. I was go to the West Bank abd their salds tast nothing like Israeli salad at all.. They were very good but I think they used something bitter in the dressing. The Israeli salad was much happier for ALL who ate it! Go Martha!

This is IDENTICAL to the Palestinian salad I make, my mom makes, my grandmother made, and many generations before me made. Hmm.. another thing Israel is trying to call their own.
This should really be called Palestinian Salad, if anything.

I just prepared this recipe to specification (with the exception of Israeli onions- what are Israeli onions? Are they Palestinian onions that have been expropriated, just like everything else 'Israeli'?).

Anyhow, tastes remarkably similar to the Lebanese salad my mother makes. Of course, she got the recipe fom her Syrian mother, who refined while working at a Palestinian restaurant.

Hey I just did and ate this salad, what an original salad.

But it really taste like the Palestinian salad, are you sure you did not just stole the Palestinian recipe like you stole Palestine land and rivers and everything there?

                Thank you
