                Why in the world would you buy canned sauce when this recipe is so easy and foolproof? Made this for the first time Thanksgiving 2007, using organic cranberries. I think it would be OK to reduce the amount of sugar a bit. Nice to have such a simple recipe to start off the Thanksgiving cooking.

Ingredients

Ingredients

  • 3 cups (12 ounces) cranberries
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup water

Directions

Combine sugar and water in a medium saucepan. Stir to dissolve sugar. Bring to a boil. Add cranberries. Bring to a boil, reduce heat and boil gently 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Remove from heat. Let cool before serving.
